Chocolate Mustache Lollipops

We make chocolate mustache lollipops often around here. They are just so fun that we never tire of them! They always seem to encourage giggles and silly mustached photos..

Today we made pink strawberry and dark chocolate mustache lollipops to share with our friends for Valentine’s Day!

This is an easy peasy project that you can do with kiddos in an afternoon! Follow our Basic Chocolate Molding Tutorial if you’re new to chocolate molding.

Tips: Roll the lollipop stick once in the mold to coat the whole top of the stick with chocolate, this makes the stick more secure. Get yourself more than one mold if you plan to make a lot, waiting for the chocolate to harden can become time consuming.

Supply List
• Candy Melts
• Flavoring Oil
• Mustache Lollipop Chocolate Mold
• 3-3/4″ Paper Lollipop Sticks
• Disposable Decorating Bags
• 4-3/4″ Cello Bags
• Twist Ties

My Christmas was AMAZING! Filled with goodies and most importantly my lovely little family. Oh how I love them so! This post is all about the goodies though : ) I feel so lucky to have such a thoughtful family and a husband who spoils me rotten each and every Christmas. He is a wonderful man and just about the best gifter I have ever seen! My favorite Christmas moment was when we realized that we both gifted each other Flavor Savor mustache chip clips.. haha!

Feather Favor Bags

Another project for your Thanksgiving table! It will be fun to send your guests home with festive favor bags filled with candies, mints or little toys, but my favorite things about these favor bags is that you can incoorporate them into your place settings for a whole lot of added charm!

I’m loving this look of chevron, feathers, and 70′s inspired autumn colors!

1. Cut your paper feathers from sturdy cardstock. 2. Attach a paper feather to the favor bag using a little double stick tape. 3. Punch holes where the vein of the feather would be using an 1/8″ paper punch. 4. Fill your favor bag with candies, mints or little toys. 5. Weave a length of bakers twine in and out of the holes. When you reach the end weave the twine back to the beginning. 6. Tie the loose ends in a knot.  7. Attach a few beads right up next to the paper feather and glue the last bead in place to secure. We used a teenie tiny bit of hot glue for this so we didn’t have to wait for glue to dry. 8. Trim and frey the ends of the twine.

I’ve created a printable PDF for you that includes templates for all 4 feather themed projects created to help you celebrate this Thanksgiving. Download here: FeatherTemplate

Supply List
• Chevron Striped Paper Bags
Bakers Twine
• Sturdy Cardstock in Seasonal Colors
• 5mm Pony Beads
• Hot Glue Gun
• Double Stick Tape
• 1/8″ Paper Punch
• Candies, Mints or Toys (I used Sixlets in coordinating colors)

Feather Paper Straws

Dress up your Thanksgiving drinks with festive feather straws in fun seasonal colors! This is a really fun project to do with kids!

1. Cut your paper feathers from sturdy cardstock. 2. Using glue that dries clear create a glue line where the feather vein would be. I like Martha Stewart Glittering Glue because the bottle has a nice fine tip. 3. Attach a length of bakers twine to glue leaving plenty of extra twine to bead. Let dry. 4. Attach a few beads right up next to the paper feather and glue the last bead in place to secure. We used a teenie tiny bit of hot glue for this so we didn’t have to wait for glue to dry. 5. Trim and frey the ends of the twine. 6. Hot glue the paper feathers to paper straws.

I’m just loving the stripes of the bakers twine and beading detail, so kitschy!

Gingerbread Feather Cookies

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I’ve got a few feather themed projects lined up for you this week that will add something extra special to your Thanksgiving table. First up are these festive gingerbread feather cookies.

I hand cut these cookies using a feather cut from card stock as my template. Hand cutting did take a little extra time so I recommend cutting and baking your feather cookies ahead of time if you are making a lot of them.

After rolling and cutting press a lollipop stick into the back of the cookie and press on a little extra dough to secure the stick.  Turn back over and bake cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Once cooled you are ready to decorate!  I used orange and blue candy melts, and orange and teal jimmies.  Melt your candy melts in the microwave 20 seconds at a time and once melted pour into a disposable decorating bag.  Pipe stripes of candy melt onto your cookies and coat with jimmies.  Let one color set before you move onto the next.

I’ve created a printable PDF for you that includes templates for all 4 feather themed projects created to help you celebrate this Thanksgiving. Download here: FeatherTemplate

Supply List
• Your favorite gingerbread recipe
• Orange Candy Melts
• Blue Candy Melts
• Orange Jimmies
• Teal Jimmies
• 4-1/2″ Paper Lollipop Sticks
• Disposable Decorating Bag

Maple Cinnamon Pumpkin Seeds

This is what I did with our pumpkin seeds this year.. really delicious!  Every year I’m the only one who eats them so I was looking for a way to jazz them up.  Maple syrup and cinnamon did the trick.

I packaged them up in Glassine Bakery Bags and sealed them with Maple Bakery Labels to share them with a few lucky family members.

Recipe
2 cups pumpkin seeds (washed and patted dry)
2 tb maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together and spread into a single layer on the cookie sheet. Bake for 40 minutes. Let cool completely on the baking sheet before storing or packaging. Some parts will be a bit gooey, others will be crunchy. Yum!

Packaging Supply List
• Glassine Bakery Bags 1/4LB
• Maple Bakery Labels

Gingerbread Deer & Coffee

Hope you all had a happy Halloween! I have a fun month of autumn baking and entertaining ideas lined up for you, and the cutest Thanksgiving DIY’s that I’m so excited about! They will make your Thanksgiving table so very special!

Starting off this month of November are these yummy gingerbread deer that pair fabulously with a fresh cup of hot coffee. A little bit campy, a little bit rustic.. they make me happy!

They don’t require any decorating which makes them a breeze to whip up using the Layer Cake Shop Standing Deer Cutter. Just mix up a batch of your favorite gingerbread, roll, cut, bake, dunk and nibble. Yum.

They are the perfect autumn afternoon treat. Enjoy!
